I am a Sociology/Social Work senior at UWSP; I am currently an intern at the WI State Public Defender and I just moved to Milwaukee.  I have one more year before I graduate and I have taken canine Psychology classes as well as classes pertaining to people. I love working with all breeds of dogs, but I especially love high energy breeds such as pit bulls, boxers, and german shepherds. I've had experience caring for  all three of the breeds just mentioned as well as other less high maintenance breeds. My previous roommate had a 1 year old pit bull that I cared for over the course of a year. I am a very energetic person so I love playing with young pit bulls; I'm also a relatively strong person so I can control dogs who aren't quite leash trained. I have some experience training canines, but I don't call myself a dog trainer by any means. I don't have pets myself because I'm currently enrolled in school and I do not have the time, but I usually am walking and caring for at least 2 dogs at a time. Also, I volunteer to walk dogs at the Humane Society. I definitely plan on getting a dog when I graduate.
 
I've been babysitting for eleven years, and I've nannied up to 5 kids at a time before. I nannied for a family of 5 (the oldest was 11) for 2 years. I have 2 younger brothers and 3 younger sisters myself, so I am very good with children. As I stated above, I'm very energetic and also a very playful person, so kids always love me. I am most comfortable babysitting for ages 6-10, because I think that that is a very fun age. Last summer I nannied for a seven year old girl from 8-5 about 3-4 days a week. This included driving her to events such as chess club and swimming lessons. I don't have any children myself, but as I said, I have plenty of experience since I have so many siblings. I don't have any specific philosphy when it comes to caregiving, but I don't believe in sitting in front of the tv all day, especially during the summer. I love being outside, and I love introducing new outdoor games to children and other various activities. Some of my favorite games and activities are badminton, sidewalk chalk, tennis, softball, cross country, 4 square, chess, candyland, and bolix.
