I absolutely hate to post this because we and our baby girl absolutely loved Rita. We received a text that she quit effective immediately, completely screwing us over with work. While here, we asked that the diaper and kitchen trash be taken out, dishes/bottles washed, and light housekeeping such as sweeping/mopping/vacuuming if baby is sleeping. Upon quitting, I was told that she felt like a maid, not a nanny, being asked to do these things and not getting paid for being a maid as well. She mentioned that she felt like a babysitter, not a nanny, which to my understanding, a nanny also does light housework, whereas a babysitter only watches the baby. We graciously paid her to do her schoolwork while baby was napping, which was a good chunk of every single day. She was upset that I did not let her leave the house with my 9 month old baby, even after it was communicated at the beginning that she would be staying here. We really did not ask much, just to hang out with our daughter and do the dishes/trash and light housework. I noticed that she would do the trash and things while baby was awake then spend the nap time doing homework. I am not sure what the expectations are of being a nanny if housework is not included, unless you simply want to be a babysitter. We increased the pay to be more than she asked for as well. Make sure your expectations are made clear as day.
