Hello! My name is Salimah. I have worked on and off in childcare for about 10 years. My experience includes working with infants, toddlers, and school aged children. My most extensive experience has been with infants and toddlers. My formal experience includes working in a daycare setting, home daycare, and most recently (before my temporary move out of state) working for a larger Childcare Agency that serves families in and around the Boston Area who are in need of last minute reliable childcare. I pride myself in my gentle and nurturing approach to childcare, along with patience, as I understand the transition period as a child adjust to being cared for by someone who they are unfamiliar with. Some of the duties I provide as an experienced caregiver includes: - Supporting children's emotional and social development by guiding children through engaging and productive activities to a foster fun learning environment, Read more whilst using positive reinforcement and behavior modeling. - Open and clear communication with parents about daily activities, behaviors, and meals/sleep logs. -Organized and planned age-appropriate reading, crafts and other engaging activities to encourage creativity and expression. - Sanitized toys and tables to maintain a clean, safe environment. In my free time, I enjoy spending time in nature, reading , sewing, studying herbalism, gardening, and traveling. I am available to provide both long term and short term care for families. I’m looking forward to finding the next family that I’ll be working with, whether it be short term, long-term, or just a one-time booking.
