Hi, I'm Ellie! I have over 8 years of childcare experience, working with all ages; infants through teens. I began babysitting at age 11, and have since worked as a Waldorf summer camp teacher for 4 summers, a part-time teacher at an outdoor Waldorf school, and worked at a school providing childcare for all ages while parents attended parent meetings. I also helped run a summer camp teaching teens how to become successful babysitters. I am Red Cross certified, CPR and First Aid certified, and have additional medical and leadership training from serving as a certified Search and Rescue team member and assistant team leader. In addition to nannying and babysitting, I also founded a volunteer book program at OHSU Doernbecher Children's Hospital. I created a book drive and collected over 300 books and brought them to the hospital. Now, I spend time passing out the books while connecting with Read more patients. I worked in the specialty clinic at Doernbecher in the waiting room, teaching crafts and coloring with any kids that were interested. I am also a community college student, on track to become a pediatric nurse I believe every child is their own unique person, and I strive to meet each child exactly where they are, whether they need imaginative play, quiet support, structure, someone to listen or just someone to have fun with. I love being and working with kids because I love building connection with them, and creating a space where children feel safe, understood, and get to be themselves. My goal is always to bring care where children feel seen, respected, and secure. I show up with patience, warmth and consistency, and I care deeply about being a steady, positive presence in a child's life. I love collaborating with parents so I am aware and respectful of your families beliefs and values, and children's routines.
