Blocking and redirecting behaviors. Offering replacement options and reinforcement to appropriate skills and behaviors. playing and interacting with kids. Having the kids follow through with putting items back in their place and assisting with their chores. It can be as simple as cleaning up their own mess from painting and crafts. I try to create as much independence as possible while giving that balance of helping and modeling skills to promote learning and the skills needed. The kids also have sensory aversions to keep in mind. If anyone is interested in obtaining their Home health care certificate, or already has it, more hours can be offered on a more consistent basis. And I would be willing to supplement that wage to include my son's care, otherwise I am mostly looking for occasional date night hours that can vary from 4 pm-1 am or overnights on the rare occasion. The girls' typical home health aid hours are 8 am to 4 pm Mon- Fri, but I may be changing that soon to 7:30-5:30 for 10-hour shifts. Days can be split up between different caregivers.
