We are seeking a dependable, patient, compassionate, and trustworthy caregiver for our 8-year-old son with autism in the South Suburbs.

He is nonverbal and communicates using an AAC tablet and some sign language. We are looking for someone with genuine experience working with autistic or special-needs children who understands patience, communication, structure, safety, and building independence.

Weekday after-school care includes:

* Homework and school activities
* Preparing meals/snacks and encouraging independence
* Hygiene and other ADLs as needed
* Evening and bedtime routine
* Cleaning up after meals and activities

Weekend care may be full-day and includes:

* Supervision and engaging activities
* Transportation to therapy, sports, and other activities
* Community outings and recreation
* Meals, hygiene, daily routines, and life-skills support
* Supporting communication through his AAC tablet/sign language

Qualifications:
Experience as a special-needs nanny, RBT/behavior technician, special education paraprofessional, pediatric CNA, or similar role is preferred. Experience with nonverbal children and AAC communication is strongly preferred.

Must be patient, dependable, safety-conscious, comfortable assisting with ADLs, have reliable transportation and a clean driving record, and be willing to complete a background check and provide references.

Care Location:
At this time, we are seeking care in the caregiver’s own home rather than our family home. The home must be clean, safe, secure, and child-friendly. We would meet the caregiver and review the home environment before care begins.

This is a non-live-in position. We are looking for someone who can become a trusted and consistent part of our son’s routine and support system.

Pay will be discussed based on experience, qualifications, schedule, and transportation responsibilities.
