We're a family in South Deerfield, MA looking to expand our team of caregivers for our 4 year old son Leo! We are currently looking for a standing commitment of 10-15 hours of weekend care, beginning in May 2024.

Leo is a sweet 4 year-old boy with cerebral palsy who loves to laugh, vocalize, crawl around, & engage with his environment through assisted play. He crawls, kneels, & sits up by himself; next steps to encourage are communication through AAC, standing/stepping and more fine motor skills.

We actively promote Leo's development, and our ideal caregiver is enthusiastic about jumping in and is eager to learn about all the ways to integrate his therapy into play. Leo's therapies include PT, OT, communication, and behavioral therapies. If you have a background in any of these fields, or more generally with neurology, cerebral palsy, or sensory processing, that is a plus, and this is an ideal job for someone studying or working in one of these areas who is looking for additional hands-on practical experience. However, formal background is not required. If you have initiative, enthusiasm, lots of patience, the energy and physical strength to crawl around with Leo and carry him, and the willingness to learn and keenly observe, these are the most important skills we are looking for!
