I am interested in giving children and youth with difficult life circumstances a place where they can feel safe and supported and to help youth to discover and work toward their life goals. I want children and youth to feel like they can come to me for whatever they need whenever they need it. I think what children and youth need most often in life is an adult that is there for them and will show them they care about them, their opinions, dreams, down falls, and will be there to love, help, give advice, realistic boundaries, or just a listening ear through it all so that through this support they will learn to resolve conflicts and cope with their circumstances themselves. I have always been good with children, and enjoyed spending time and a helping hand when it is needed. I helped out tutoring and creating and implementing educational Read more activities for the RTI and After School Programs at Ticasuk Brown Elementary, 4-H, OCS (Office of Children’s Services), and other community activities, realizing that I was inclined to the direction of helping others, specifically children and youth, and decided to see what opportunities there were for doing that as a career. I have taken classes and different volunteer positions have helped me see the needs for support and encouragement. I would like to help in some of these needs and encouragement towards goals and futures. I believe that a position that will help give me steps toward meeting needs of young people. Giving me more experience with kids from varying walks of life. (Having the opportunity to relate to the kids and give them a positive encouragement toward their own goals and futures.) I have experience with dealing with difficult children and parents, and getting them to interact in activities, and would like to expand this knowledge. I enjoy learning new things, and am open minded toward different views, and ways of living. I have experience in individualized case plans, and other forums of paperwork. I have experience helping others with different projects and class work, and would love to do more of this on an individual level.
