I have been around children my entire life.  Whether it be caring for my six younger siblings and the many children that I have babysat, or through the various children's art and theater classes I've taught, I love being around little people!  While most of my childcare experience has been with the 3-10 age range, I'm comfortable with children of all ages and needs. I have a M.S. degree in Family Therapy and am familiar with normative childhood development, effective discipline and communication strategies, and working with children from a wide range of backgrounds. My personal childcare philosophy is based on mutual respect, consistency, validation, and engagement. I would much prefer to be interacting with a child than sticking them in from of a screen. I enjoy being outdoors, traveling, trying new foods, appreciating the little things, reading, and learning--all things that I try to Read more share with the children I take care of.  I am fluent in French, I'm not afraid to lay on the floor and play with toys, and I believe in the primal importance of being kind.
