I am a student at UAB finishing up my first year studying elementary education. I've also enjoyed being around kids which clearly played a part in my career goals. I worked at the YMCA for 2 years as an afterschool care and summer camp counselor where I gained my CPR and First Aid Certification. I worked with ages from 4 to 12. I have babysat for family friends multiple times, mainly a 10 year old boy and 2 sisters ages 5 and 7. This semester I am employed through UABTeach and Jones Valley Teaching Farm at Glen Iris Elementary school where I assist with a farm club afterschool. We teach elementary aged kids how to take care of our earth, grow and harvest plants, and cook healthy meals. I really enjoy being outdoors and active and also LOVE arts and crafts.
