I started babysitting in high school and have worked with children in a variety of capacities since. I earned my BS and MS in Human Development and Family Studies at the University of Alabama, and when I wasn't studying developmental theories, I was often applying them through hands-on experience. I have mentored and tutored elementary school students, served as a counselor at overnight camps (ages 7-15), assisted and directed at day camps (ages 4-12), served as a substitute teacher and paraprofessional in public schools, and worked with infants, toddlers, and preschoolers at an early childhood development center. I have experience working with children of diverse backgrounds, identities, and developmental levels in both Tuscaloosa, Alabama and Northern Illinois. I consistently strive to ensure a fun, safe environment for all children I work with, and I'm not afraid to break a sweat playing outside or helping to understand the tougher math problems!
