I was born Minnesota, however, I moved to Mississippi when I was two. In 69 I moved to my current state Alabama. I first started the love for caretaking when my mother fell ill to terminal cancer. Providing the one on one care to my mother gave me a feeling that I have never felt before. The genuine smile she gave me before she passed lead me to further my interest in caregiving. That lead me to Mississippi in 74 where I learned a great deal about reasonability and safety of taking care of a child and the importance of teaching them values and moral as well as numbers and words. As I grew older and married my husband I enhanced my knowledge of infant caretaking through my education and decided to have three children of my own. My patience and dependability lead me to prepare for geriatric care. Taking responsibility for my grandmother’s activities of daily living when she fell ill, strengthened my decision to go further with caregiving. After the passing of my grandmother, I continued in geriatric and pediatric care until my move back to Ms. A family friend needed round the clock care for his terminally ill wife and I knew that was where I was supposed to be. I worked with his family for 3 years taking charge of meal preparations, medication administration, bathing, breathing treatments, passive motion exercises, as well as stimulating activities. After she passed away I moved back to Alabama and reconnected with an old friend who needed assistance caring for her young twins. Recently, I have traveled to Mississippi to be with my aunt who had a kidney transplant. I was her caregiver in all aspects from strict dietary preparation to emptying her drainage tube. The experiences I have done in my life made me who I am therefore everyone I come into contact with are in need of some type of care. The heartwarming feeling I get brings me happiness that keeps me wanting more. I hope that I am the best fit for you and your family.
