Hi, I'm Katie Reginald! I'm 26 years old, grew up in Central Illinois, originally from Chillicothe, IL but currently residing in Rockford, AL. I grew up in a small town where everyone knows everyone and when something goes bad we all pitch in to help out that cause. I have always loved children & caring for them. I have been babysitting since I was about 11 or 12 years old I believe. I have watched kids from ages 2-12, ranging from 1-3 at a time. In high school, during my sophomore-senior years, I took child development & child care classes. My high school has a preschool inside of it and high school students can take classes to interact and learn how a child develops & how to care for them. When I was about 11 or 12 years old I babysat a 3 year old with autism. He absolutely adored Read more me and his father told me that I was the only one he trusted to take care of his son. In my junior & senior years of high school for the whole class I got to plan the course of the day for the preschoolers. I would plan out snack time, the craft of the day, objective of the day, we would sing songs, use flash cards, teach them about shapes & colors, & help them write and spell. We also played with toys & games with them, we would go outside and play if it was nice outside, help them learn about the days & months, if there was a holiday when they had school we would celebrate it, if a kid had a birthday we would celebrate it, basically be the teacher of the day. When I've babysat I have had to make dinner, given baths, put kids to bed, given nap time. I have also stayed overnight with the kids. I love to play games/toys, watch tv, go outside and play, go on walks, basically anything the kids want to do I do it with them. I have had to discipline kids before for acting inappropriately or misbehaving & also have had to take children to school in the early mornings. I started working at a child care center in August of 2018, so I'm CPR trained & first aid trained for children 6 weeks to 12 years old.
