I LOVE children. I am a retired English teacher, and, between substitute teaching and my careers, I have taught every age from kindergarten to college freshmen. I began babysitting for 25 cents an hour when I was twelve years old. In addition, I raised two daughters and have extensive babysitting experience with my four wonderful (make that perfect) grandchildren. I am a calm, patient, and relaxed person. I believe that children of all ages need consistent and constant love and attention. I firmly adhere to the idea that reading to children is as important as feeding them. Another concept I find vital is that children be taught age-appropriate manners and responsibility. By manners, I don’t mean what fork to use, but words, actions, and attitudes that show respect for others and for themselves. Safety is a top priority to me.
