Meet Alyssa

I am 21 years old and work for my family's business part-time, but my passion is for children! I spent a wonderful year working in a preschool as an assistant and playground monitor for children 4-7, but sadly the position did not renew this year. I miss my kiddos so much but I know that there is someone out there who needs a loving person to care for their children and that is what I want to do! My primary experience has been through helping raise my little brother, 10 years my junior, and tutoring many younger friends and children of family friends. I have experience as a camp counselor at my church, as well as a teacher and class lead for children's classes at my church. I have tutored a high school student with ADHD and have previously attended an art school that encompassed a school for the deaf Read more and hearing-impaired. I have a passion for children and hope to enter the teaching field when I finish school, and hope to homeschool my own children in the future. I am active and involved in numerous volunteer projects and hope to help others by offering assistance and working charitably with families in financial difficulty who cannot afford daycare or expensive childcare services, and am willing to work graciously with little to no pay when needed. I am a proficient cook and caregiver, I do not believe in raising my voice or acting out in anger or frustration with a child under any circumstances. I believe that intentional quality time and patience will get you through just about any child's moment of crisis. If I am responsible to watch your child, my one and only priority while he or she is with me is their safety, comfort, and well-being. I choose to love and care for each child as the most precious and important person in the world while they are in my care. For now, I have listed my mother, who knows me best and who I have worked for the most and the longest, as my primary reference. Other references - parents of children I've tutored, owners of pets I've watched for, leaders whose camps I've volunteered for, etc - will be available upon request, so as to respect their privacy and their time, to give them notice when someone will be contacting them.
