I have 6 years of paid sitting and nanny experience. Over this course of time I have been with 3 different families professionally. I have of course babysat a lot more than this but it was more sporadically. My first family was a family of two off an on for 6 years. I would watch the two boys (whom are 4 years apart) whenever the mother needed me. When she had her second boy I was with the family three days a week after school and during that summer I was there 5 days a week 7am-2pm while the mother was gone for work. I still look after this family very rarely however, now that her oldest is 9. During my time with this family I cooked for the family, did the families laundry, helped teach the youngest how to walk and potty train him, as well as look after Read more both children and engage with them. As the eldest aged I started helping him with homework. My second most recent family I was a nanny and looked after her toddler for the summer potty training him was a battle but me and his mother were successful. I read to him, combed his hair, bathed and fed him, we played together, we’d color and build with his blocks. When he took his naps (which wasn’t often as his mother didn’t want him on a schedule) I’d clean around the house, do the dishes, and laundry. For the the most recent family I’ve been with was for 6 months in 2020 for a mother who went back to work for maternity leave 6 days a week for 7 hours a day. This was me training her baby to start developing a schedule, taking care of her baby girl, and doing laundry for the family.
