My experience with childcare is extensive. I got my start as a teenager as many young girls do. In 2012 I was hired by an agency called Trusting Connections. That same year I was placed permanently with a family with 4 children for a year and a half. I am still very close with the family. I have 2 years experience as a Behavioral Therapist at an autism center. My undergraduate degree is in Family Studies and Human Development, and I am currently in the process of earning an online Master's degree in Applied Behavior Analysis. My sitting style varies on what the children need that day. I can be very goofy and playful, but I am sure to provide consistency so that the children feel safe and secure with me. I can often been seen singing, playing outside, baking, and making up new pretend play games with kids. As Read more my education suggests, I am focused on encouraging healthy childhood development whether I sit for your family for 2 hours or over the course of several months. I like to connect with kids on an individual level and encourage each child to grow through discovery and creativity. I am very comfortable and experienced working with children with disabilities and disorders. I am trained in Applied Behavioral Analysis and modification, and I am experienced in working with children who have language and speech delays. I have very basic knowledge of ASL, and I speak Spanish at an intermediate level. I have worked and/or volunteered with children and adolescents in hospitals, schools, treatment centers, homeless shelters, the streets of Ecuador, and private homes. My experience ranges with kids ages newborn to 18 years old.
