Meet Naomi

Hi! My name is Naomi, although one of my twin sisters started calling me Noni when she was 5 and it stuck, so sometimes friends and family use that nickname. I grew up with seven sisters, and five of them were younger than me. Both my parents worked as teachers for most of my growing up years. I was the high-energy, talkative child, a trait I have now tamed. I was also a bit distracted, and as I've gotten older it has turned into attention to detail and awareness of my surroundings. My favorite job I ever had was as a 17/18-year-old as a Prenda Guide. I helped lightly structure playtime for a dozen eight-ten year old boys after they had finished online school. I also sometimes watched 3 or four kids ages 5-13. Some of them were adopted, and one child, a 6 year old boy, was extremely stubborn Read more and high energy. Also very loud. He didn't have boundaries, and preferred hitting his siblings to try to get attention. I learned quickly that he needed to be occupied. So we went on runs and bike rides around the property, sometimes his mom would be working and needed quiet, but he didn't want to leave her alone, so I would pick him up, put him on my shoulders and go running. After a bit I would put him down and let him run by my side. We did other things too, with him and with the Prenda kids. Built a tree fort, played prince and dragon, did scavenger hunts in which I protected the prize with a red scarf covering one eye and an accent, made origami swords, and drew on rocks. The greatest fun we had was when I took the title of general and bid my soldiers go and find the steering droid for my ship, it was white and round I told them. They scattered, running in every direction and I went along, going around and keeping tabs while they tried. The boy who found it was promoted to captain, and assigned to guard it atop the ship(tree fort). I'm currently attending BYU Idaho in order to get the necessary qualifications to run a dance studio, and meanwhile I'm hoping to find a job relatively close to campus while I study.
