I have always enjoyed being around kids and have spent time as a babysitter, gymnastics coach, and a classroom volunteer. I began babysitting for families in my area around the age of 12 and continued to do so throughout high school. As a gymnastics coach, I worked with children of all ages ranging from 2 to 14. Coaching provided me the opportunity to expand my creativity when working with children, as well as learning different methods to care for the needs of each individual child. I was later able to put the skills I learned coaching to use during the four months I spent volunteering in a kindergarten classroom. I would organize educational games for the kids, as well as work with some children individually.
