Hello! My name is Jessica Lindfors and I became a caretaker around 3 years ago back while I was in high school. It started as a summer internship at a local Reggio preschool. While there, I realized I loved working with children. Reggio curriculum states that the children learn their best through interactive play and through questioning the world through their own lenses. For example, in the morning we ask the children how they are doing, and what they have noticed that they would like to explore. A child noticed bikes, so we created a curriculum so they would see how bikes are made, how they work with spokes, etc. I still employ this mindset in my working with children. I love going outdoors, riding the bus, going to libraries and parks, etc. I have babysat morning through night time for over 20 families in Alameda, references available upon request, Read more which means waking them up, putting them to bed, getting them ready for the day, the whole kit and kaboodle. I have worked in 2 preschools and an afterschool program. I have worked with ages 3 months all the way to 12 year olds, as well as having my own son. I think the best quality I have is understanding that children all deserve quality attention and to be heard, and the best way to help them develop their own sense of themselves is to be present and engaged in what they have to say. Lastly, a bit more about myself, I am currently in school studying to be a math major. I love movies, music, and nature the most of all. I prefer to be outside as much as possible, and I hope your children do too. I love big messy art projects and dancing ridiculously and howling 80's ballads as loud as possible.
