I have been a nanny for 5 years combined and a dog caretaker for over 10 years. I am a grandmother of a 9 year old girl, Lucy. I spent the first 4 years caring for my granddaughter several days and nights every week. Sadly I had to move. However I quickly found a position as a nanny for a 5 year old girl right here in the bay area. A family with also two adorable dogs. That position ended several years ago and my focus has been mostly on my gallery in Alameda and my freelance design work. I really miss being with children and animals. I have had my background check by the previous employer as well have been trained in CPR. I am a licensed and an extremely careful driver with an excellent driving record. I am happy and comfortable picking up and dropping off children to Read more school or extracurricular activities. This was a large part of my responsibilities at my previous nanny position. I have rescued and helped find homes for several animals over the years. I‘ve worked with (special) dogs and cats that needed help adjusting socially or that have unusual behaviors and/or personalities. I spent over 4 yrs at FAAS, Friends of the Alameda Animal Shelter, working hands on with both cats, dogs,bunnies and birds! I really enjoy exercise and the outdoors, so your dog will get a great workout with me. I am looking for something part time, close to home. I am also available for pet-sitting, although, I do prefer to hike as well. I would also enjoy making special trips now and then to some off leash dog hiking trails. I am a freelancer doing graphic design in the bay area and work on the computer a lot, so working with animals and children is a real pleasure for me. I would love to meet you in person to see if we are a good match.
