My mantra has always been "treat the children that you care for, the way you would treat your own kids". I have lived by those words since. Parenting is the hardest job in the world, yet the most rewarding, and we all need someone to look out for each other. Briefly, my experience with children are as follows; Child Development major, infant/pre-school through school age care, sub for LAUSD, Child Life Intern, after-school enrichment director and my crowning glory.... caring and home-schooling my own two children who are now in their teens and back to school. I am loving and patient Mommy. I believe all children grow and blossom at their own pace. Mindful parenting is the key to successful parenting. My husband and I relocated last summer from NYC to LA with our boy/girl twins who at the time were 18-months. Veronica took care of our kiddos for 1 year before they started pre-school. She was great with them and very engaged, and we felt 100% confident that they were in good hands. She played music, read to them non-stop, helped teach them to count, say their ABCs, and start to learn colors. Veronica always interacted with our twins with kindness and a softness that endeared them (and us) to her. She handled the terrible twos with grace and gave us, the parents, a role model for how to handle tantrums. We were extremely fortunate to have found Veronica, especially in our first year in LA. If it were possible, I would give Veronica 6 stars as a rating! She has been the most amazing and loving caregiver for my 14 month old son that I could ask for. The only reason I am giving her up is due to the fact that I am moving but if I could take her with me, I would. Everyday Veronica showed up, on time, and ready to INTERACT with my son. She was not the type of caregiver that just watched him and this is what I appreciate the most. She found and attended music classes with him, read books with him every day and took him in as if he were her own. My son always looked forward to his "Auntie V" coming over and got excited when he saw her smiling and welcoming face. We are truly going to miss her and anyone would be lucky to have her caring for their child.
