Ever since age 13 I’ve babysat for several families at a time and also loved it! I think the best part of it all is getting to see these tiny beings change and grow, seeing their personalities come to light. Many might see babysitting as just a necessity for parents to be able to go out and have adult time, but it’s so much more than that. It’s a chance to have fun, to engage a child’s sense of wonder and their sense of self. I like to do activities with them and be outdoors when possible. I’m very respectful of parents’ preferences and like to follow their same rules set for their kids. I know that being a parent can sometimes be challenging... I can be there to help give you a much needed break or to help make daily life a little easier for you. While I have not been blessed to be a mother yet myself, I’ve learned a wide variety of things from each of the families I’ve had the pleasure to know and love. Hi, My name is Paige Bariteau and I am from Santa Cruz California. I am currently attending Cuesta College majoring in Business Administration with a minor in Early Childhood Development. My mom has taught Kindergarten and 2nd grade my whole life allowing me to help out and work one on one with the kids. I’ve been babysitting since I was 15 years old. I would watch neighborhood kids of all ages while their parents would go out. When I turned 16 I got a job nannying a 2 year old and 4 year old. I would pick them up from school take them to the park then back home for dinner, bath, and bed time. When I was not in school I’d go over in the morning to wake them up, make breakfast and get them ready for the day. I learned a lot of responsibility and management skills while doing this job. When I was 17, I worked for a family after school watching their 9 month old and 2 year old while their parents were at work or out on date nights. Multitasking with two kids is very manageable for me. On top of babysitting, I worked three days a week at a restaurant as a server where I learned how to problem solve and work with others to create an environment where people feel welcomed and accommodated while at our restaurant. While on honor role at my high school I played three Varsity sports, where I learned the importance of being a team player.
