I am is a 25 year old female artist and childcare provider looking for a few wonderful families to work with part-time! I am a Berkeley, California native who grew up in a whirlwind of wild plants, wilder kids, organic veggies, muddy toes, and music from my mother's piano. There were always neighborhood kids trailing in and out of our cottage on the hill, and I started working as a "mother's helper" at age ten. By thirteen I was looking after two toddlers down the street, Jack and Margo. Since then I have formed close relationships with over a dozen families and countless children. I have worked as a French language Pre-K teacher, a full-time nanny, an arts and language tutor, and an over-night care taker, in addition to continually babysitting for those clients whose children and families are near to my heart. My goal as a sitter is to Read more support the values, habits, and routine you as the family are instilling in your child/children. I seek to balance loving play with structure. I believe in nourishing food, active movement, making art, telling stories, and engaging all children and young adults at their highest potential. I work to redefine the homework process, creating space for learning to be motivated by internal curiosity and creative solutions. Fractions can be learned while baking cookies, and grammar tenses conjugated while playing charades. My specialties are creative writing, analytic essay writing, poetry, and art-making. I firmly believe that self expression is one of the most powerful tools a young person can cultivate. I have attended two art colleges where I studied performance, acting, writing, directing, video and filmmaking, and sculptural installation. I have completed a Level 1 & 2 certification in Focusing and Expressive Arts, which trains recipients in active listening, intuitive problem solving, and non-violent communication. I am looking to work with families who are excited about collaborating with a creative, loving individual to care for their children. Drop me a line if you think we would be a fit. I'd love to get to know you and your family! Warmly, Fitch
