I am originally from Puerto Rico and I just recently moved from Austin, TX to Berkeley. I've worked on and off caring for children for the past 10 years. I enjoy biking, playing music, and dancing (especially salsa and Brazilian music). I am currently preparing to work as a doula, and I am considering a career as a nurse midwife. The following is a short snippet of my experience caring for children. As a teenager, I worked with a therapist who treated children with autism. I would get referred by her to some of her clients and care for them. I've also taken care of two brothers who are now 2 and 4, but were 1 and 3 at the time I cared for them. They were my friend's kids. I worked at a small non-profit that worked with families with special needs. During the classes for parents, I would Read more care for the clients' children. There were 2-6 children at any one time, ages ranging from 1-5 years old. I've also taken care of a 6-month-old and a 7-month-old infant, during separate occasions. I've recently been care taking a 2-year-old and a 7-year-old. I am still currently caring for them once a week.
