Meet Nicole

  • Comfortable with pets

Hello! My name is Nicole (or Ms. Nikki to the kiddos call me) and working with little ones has been my passion since I was a teenager. My first job was as an after school care provider in the Berkeley Unified School district and I loved it. It was in these years with BUSD that I learned that my passion is to work with kids and help them learn more about themselves and about all the fascinating things around us. After 5 years of working with BUSD I left to go to school to study education because I wanted to play a big part in the development of young minds. While being a classroom teacher was my goal for a long time, it was in the years of the pandemic, when I was hired to take care of 5 kindergarteners, that I learned that I what I love most about Read more working with kids is helping develop their character by forming meaningful relationships with them, helping discover their strengths, and help helping them learn to navigate their emotions in challenging situations, and providing opportunities for creative free-play. It always brings me joy to see little ones learn and grow! Over the last 14 years I've worked with kids in various capacities: After school instructor, summer art instructor, baby sitter, kindergarten pod instructor, co-director of Classroom Matters after school program, noon duty supervisor...etc. In these roles I've had the opportunity to lead various clubs and activities such as, DIY club, walking exploration, music, art, book club, cooking, track and field...etc. I have a teacher education background and love to incorporate fun, educational experiences whenever possible! BUT more importantly, I believe play is extremely important and I take every opportunity to encourage imaginative play. It would be a joy to get to work with you and your little ones whether for a one time babysitting job or a part-time nanny situation. Feel free to reach out with any questions!
