I’m a server, so I have an immense amount of patience and resilience. In serving tables I have to work 6-10-hour shifts, sometimes 12-hour shifts with no official break. I am hardworking. In serving tables, I often interact with families and children and create a comfortable environment with customers. Once I hit it off so well with a one-year-old baby boy (pre-COVID-19). He came up to me outstretched his arms, I respectfully looked at his parents and they shook their head yes. I held this baby boy for a bit and after a couple minutes. The father said, “Now, let the waitress get back to her job, buddy, come here.” The baby boy stuck to me like glue. He didn’t want to go.
