I look forward to meeting you and your child/children. I am a young retired school teacher from LAUSD. I have raised my own 3 children and now help with my 3 grandsons. I began my nanny career working part time after school while I was a teacher. I worked as the nanny for two children in Pasadena for two and a half years. I worked with a family from Finland two afternoons a week after school and occasional weekends. Duties included picking the boy and girl up after school, shopping for groceries for dinner, cooking dinner for the family and light house cleaning. I provided homework help, played games and facilitated many creative outdoor activities. When I retired from teaching I became a personal driver. When the family I had worked for had their third child they contacted me to come to work for them full time. I am currently Read more working as the full time nanny for the three children. I began when the baby was 5 months old and he is now 23 months old. Duties included care for the baby/toddler all day and picking up the other two children from school and driving them to their various after school activities 3/4 afternoons a week. Homework assistance is also part of the job. Household duties include all things related to the baby, feeding, washing diapers, making baby-food and potty-training. Kitchen duties included washing all dishes, meal planning, grocery shopping and preparing dinner each night. Lunches are planned and prepared during summer. All laundry for the family is maintained including washing, hanging out to dry and folding. Prior to becoming a nanny I have had experience in teaching. I have taught 18 years in both elementary and middle school grades 2nd through 8th grades. I have a Masters Degree in education with a concentration in math and special education. I have done individual private tutoring and tutoring through a corporation. I have worked with children most of my life.
