Hi! I am the mother of 4 grown children and 11 grandchildren (ages 4 months to 20 years old!). I am a retired, non smoker, and Christian woman who loves children and looking to supplement my retirement a bit. I was a medical assistant for 10 years for an obstetrician in Northridge, and a licensed Pharmacy Tech for 18 years at Costco. I am a very young grandmother and my own grandchildren always call me the "Fun" grandma! I always bring my "Mary Poppins Bag" that I keep filled with books, easy little crafts, and educational games to make the children more comfortable as they get to know me. I have 2 Pugs, who everyone knows are my "kids", so I absolutely love dogs. I have an excellent well running car and a perfect driving record . I can provide multiple references, including other SitterCity families. I would say most Read more families I’ve met thru SitterCity , have kept me as their sitter from the first time we’ve met. Some children I started caring for when born, are now having 3rd birthdays . I have been their one constant sitter since birth! As I work occasionally for a foster mother with 6 children, 4 of which are under 4, I have to meet the cities requirements in the foster care system. Which means I have been Lifescanned, the most detailed background check you can get, and required for all city workers , I am certified in CPR/First Aid for children and infants, and am current on all vaccinations, including TB test and flu shot. If you like, I can send documentation on all of the above . I am seeking part-time childcare, last minute childcare, and date night commitments. I have no scheduled weekly commitments, which leaves me open to help meet most people's needs. . I also do many weekend sitting jobs at the home of the child, while parents go away. I take my skills with children very seriously and it's very important to me that the child feel comfortable and safe with me and has an enjoyable time, knowing their parents will return soon. I know I have succeeded when a child comes running to the door to greet me when I arrive, happy to know it is me that will be watching him/her. I realize you have many choices here on Sitter City. I wish you the best in finding just the right person to meet yours and your child's needs. Hopefully, I look forward to meeting you. Denise K.
