Hi there! My name is Casey, and I’m a Carlsbad resident of 10+ years (I’m very familiar with the area and surrounding cities). My most recent job in childcare was just last year, when I was a full-time nanny to a very sweet baby boy (1-2 y/o) from Aug ‘21 - Aug ‘22. I watched him Mon-Fri from 10am-3/4pm while his parents worked, and occasionally I’d see him on weekends for date nights, too. I also joined their family on a business trip for a week to watch the baby while they worked during the days, so traveling is not typically an issue for me. I’ve also had experience watching other children of various ages between 1 and 11; some just once, and others I’ve helped multiple times. In Aug ‘22, I decided to go back to school, and the boy that I was nannying went into Pre-K. We grew very connected so it was hard to leave! But I also wanted to get a start on my professional career. I attended Palomar Institute of Cosmetology starting in Sep ‘22 and graduated from their Esthetics program earlier this year. This year has come with a few extra challenges already, so since graduating I’ve been studying for my license exam and looking for work. I want to come back to nannying/babysitting right now because I’m still in search of my next career move, and watching kids has always come somewhat naturally to me. Of course it’s a challenge, but kids bring so much bright energy to everything they do, and seeing how their minds work and supporting them as they learn about the world around them is honestly a delight to me.
