I am a sophomore attending Dominican University of California as a Nursing Major. I want to specialize in either pediatrics or labor and delivery because working with and caring for children has always come very natural to me. I've had many experiences caring for young children when parents would be at work or when they'd just be out for the day. My family and family friends would ask me to watch over their children, and I would stay at home with them, keep them entertained, and make snacks if I needed to. On a larger scale of taking care of children, I've helped organize and accompany groups of children to retreat trips and community service projects. I've also been asked by my peers to do talks in front of groups of young children about my life, lessons I've learned growing up, and what I think they should take away from Read more it. Something personal about me is that when I was younger I never was 100% sure I wanted to become a nurse because I wanted to make sure I was doing it for myself. I found as I got older that taking care of others came naturally to me whether it be my friends, sibling, or parents. I remember there was a time when I was at a hospital and I was allowed to see a newborn baby with her mother. The amount of happiness that filled the mother's face was what made me realize I want to be able to help other people feel that type of raw emotion too by ensuring their loved ones are happy and healthy under my care. I would just like to note that it is very important to me that the children I take care of feel safe and comfortable around me! If you have more questions you'd like to ask me please do not hesitate to request an interview from me. Thank you for reading and for giving me the opportunity to work for you as your babysitter!
