I graduated from Mt. San Antonio College in walnut with an AA in Behavioral Sciences and just finished my 1st semester at Cal State Fullerton majoring in Sociology. While all of my previous jobs have been in the Pasadena and Alta Dena area, I am hoping to find jobs closer to me so that my schedule and work can better coincide. I have had the opportunity of working with many families and their children. I attended Middle through High School at Rio Hondo Prep and began assistant coaching for young girls (kindergarten and 1st grade) during middle school. In High School and through the beginning of college, I continued as a coach for 2nd, 3rd, and 4th grade girls, and volunteered at an after school program. Aside from seeing these girls 2-3 days a week, I would be responsible for them on camping trips and during sleepovers. I can honestly Read more say I have had my fair share of cleaning up accidents, comforting those who are homesick, and tending to those who were sick. All in all, I had so much respect for all the girls who i worked with and i am so honored that there are a few who keep in contact with me to let me know their progress in life and seek out support. Aside from the coaching, I have worked with family, friends, and have been suggested to numerous families by those who have had me as a babysitter. The most children I have looked after at one time is five and the least is one. I babysat a little girl on weekends for about four years and it is amazing to see how much children grow over in that amount of time. I have had people call me for the occasional date night here and there, and that works to. There was a family who i worked with over the summer and I watched their three children with pick ups from summer school, feeding them lunch, and helping with homework. While my experience as a babysitter has varied, I have realized that every child; whom i have had the opportunity to work with, loves to be heard every reaction whether good or bad is given to me for a reason. I love when i get to see a child become comfortable in any way. I love to see when children are genuinely curious when they ask a question, or are willing to try something new. Even for the older teens whom I have worked with, they have so much to share and so many ideas that are sometimes overlooked, I like to listen to what they have to say and allow them to tell me those ideas and dreams of theirs. These are the reason I choose to continue to seek out babysitting jobs.
