Hi! :) I am a recent university graduate currently taking and extended period of time off before applying to medical school. Much of my experience with children comes from my family; specifically, my six younger cousins ranging from age 13 to 1. I have had the opportunity to interact with them as they grow and develop their own personalities and views about the world around them. Doing so has taught me how take their uniqueness into account while playing with them or helping them with homework. My formal interaction with youth began in college when I worked as a research assistant in a child psychology lab. In addition to research, I would often babysit the siblings of the clients in our lab's designated playroom while the client was being interviewed. This included playing with the children, making sure they were fed and helping them with homework. As an undergrad, I Read more also had the privilege of interacting with children in a local orphanage while volunteering in Haiti on a medical mission. I have also worked with children/infants in a hospital setting during the 2 years I spent as a Clinical Care Intern. Moreover, I have experience working with high school students in and out of a classroom setting. These experiences have helped me learn to work with children of varying ages, cultures, and ethnic backgrounds. I love outdoor activities, so I am more than willing to play outdoors with kids or take them to the park. I also love pets! So I have no problem taking care of them while you are gone. If you have any inquiries, please do not hesitate to contact me. I look forward to hearing from you and your family. Note: I am also active on urbansitter.com.
