I work at Cal in the athletics department full time and a big part of my job is working with group leaders and planning sport events for the children they cater too, primarily youth sports groups, and other youth centered recreational activities. In my younger years, I took care of my nephew while he was living with me for the first 5 years of his life. I’ve always been good with kids because as a server during college I would have a lot of regulars that came in with kids and made sure the whole family had a great experience even if it was for a limited time. I also advocate for kids as best as I can and make sure they feel safe, valued, and over all I want them to feel joy. I have recently babysat a colleague’s 3 year old son and that was a great! Although Read more I have yet to have my own kids, I’ve always had a maternal instinct about me that I share with my friends kids and relatives. In addition to babysitting, I like to make myself available for parents looking for a night out or “date nights” since I believe parents deserve some time for themselves without the guilt though of leaving their child alone. It’s been a busy and crazy past couple of years and things have changed, so anything I can do to help I will.
