I have been pet-sitting, dog training, babysitting, and tutoring for people outside of my friends and family since I was 12 years old. My primary way of making money in high school was by babysitting. The largest family that I consistently babysat for had a 7 year old, 6 year old, 4 year old, 2 year old twins, and an infant. I also volunteered in a church nursery for 5 years. I would spend about 2 hours with up to twenty 0-3 year olds (not alone, of course). I am not currently certified in pet or human first aid, although I am planning to be for my own peace of mind since I am around children and pets often. Before I moved out of California, I quit my full time job in the Bay Area to have more flexibility in my schedule for other commitments. That is when I started Read more doing independent work like kid sitting, pet sitting, and temp work to make a living. I recently moved to New Jersey to live with friends who are like family.
