My name is Angel Chukwu. I have a B.S. and Masters in Public Health. Outside my education, I enjoy binge-watching Netflix and Disney+, hiking, cooking, and listening to music. I have been working with kids and have been a child advocate since I was 11 years old, and I love every moment of it. I enjoy seeing the children happy and smiling while doing the things they love. I started working with kids by being a classroom aide in a first-grade class. As a classroom aide, I assisted the kids in reading, mathematics, and writing activities. Simultaneously, I babysat my family friend's children when needed; they were between the ages of one and five. In addition, I have worked at Kumon Math and Reading Center, where I assisted students in learning and mastering their Math and English skills through various teaching methods. Over the past few years, I have gained Read more experience caring for kids and have worked for SAY San Diego, where I supervised children as early as kindergarten to middle school in the before/after school programs. Most recently, I was a direct care worker for children with physical and intellectual disabilities. Some of my duties included assisting residents with activities of daily living and focusing on healthy development, growth, and learning, such as bathing, feeding, and dressing. I like taking the children outside to play and explore their surroundings; this includes going on walks around the neighborhood or park play. I also participate in playing indoor games and arts and crafts. In addition, depending on the child's age, we engage in baking, nap time, music time, etc.
