Hi. I'm 30 years old, single, no kids, but love them. I started working with kids right out of high school. I worked for the SMMUSD for almost 5 years. I started in the Library as an assistant at the elementary schools. I loved it. I was able to interact with the kids, like reading to them. After being with the school district I wanted to continue working with kids but wanted to work with the littler ones. 2-5 years of age. I was lucky enough to get an office assistant job at a private preschool closer to my house in the South Bay area. I worked in the office in the am and in the afternoon I would help out in our Kids Club program. I also helped out in the classrooms during breaks and nap time. I don't have my AA to be a Preschool Teacher but had Read more tons of experience from working at the school district. Having that experience I was still able to be involved with the kids. I started to build relationships with the kids and the parents and was asked if I babysat. I would babysit occasionally here and there for friends and family but never thought of doing it as a side job. I love kids and knew that this would be something I could see myself doing. I started babysitting a nights and weekends for one parent and after a few months I was babysitting for as many as 6 different families. I became the babysitter for our school. I enjoyed it. I realized that kids were a joy to be with and what I love the most about kids is their smart and loving personality. They are GENUINE and their love is UNCONDITIONAL. Being able to see their faces every morning and how happy they get when they would see mine just made my day. I always knew I loved kids and wanted to be mom but not until I started to work with them is when I realized that this was my passion. I stayed with the preschool for almost 4 years and working there was my favorite job I ever had. Unfortunately I needed to look for another job due to being single and on my own and having to care for myself. I got a call from my old boss that use to be our preschool director and she offered me a job at her husbands law firm. I know it is completely opposite of what I was doing but because of the circumstances I had to take it and leave the school. It was a very hard decision because I didn't want to leave the kids. It broke my heart. Luckily a couple of parents offered me a weekly night or two to still be able to babysit so they can have date night. I couldn't be happier. Looking to continue my passion and work with kids
