My name is Tiffany and I am 24 years old! I Just graduated from college and I'm pursuing my Bachelor degree at east bay starting this august. I currently work at an ABA company as a registered behavior technician which consists of me coming to families homes and have an in person therapy for children who are on the autism spectrum. As a behavior technician my job is to follow a structured plan written by each client's case supervisor and take all the necessary data to measure the clients progress on each session. Each client has their own portfolio and the plans we follow are based on the clients goals, skills and behaviors. We utilize the antecedent, behavior and consequence method to understand each kid a little more and try to figure out what are the reasons for some of their behaviors and based on that information make a plan Read more to decrease the unwanted behaviors and increase the desired behaviors and skills. This job has been a beautiful career and life experience to me because of how rewarding it is to see them progress on their goals and be a part of that achievement. This type of job requires us to be active with the kids, play with them and have different activities for the session so they would always stay motivated and happy. I am really grateful for this job because it really helped me develop different skills that are important when it comes to taking care of kids such as patience, always being alert of any possible hazards and different strategies to avoid tantrums or them being upset. I have been working with kids ever since I was in highschool and as the oldest one in the family I grew up taking care of my two younger siblings. My first job ever was babysitting a 4 and a 6 years old little girl whose mom worked overnight. I would arrive at their home at around 9:00 pm and leave at around 8:00 am. I would make dinner for both girls, help with homework and get them in bed at a certain time. In the morning I would make breakfast, get them ready for the day and have different activities with them while we waited for mom to come home. I babysit this family for about two years while I was in highschool. In my last year of highschool I participated in a program to help coach youth soccer teams since I loved soccer and loved working with kids. The second family I worked for had three boys, they were 2, 8 and 14 years old.
