Hello! My name is Mariam and I am currently a part-time college student. My philosophy: I think that no matter how old you get, you never stop learning, For this reason, I think that activities (that parents deem appropriate), such as reading interesting books, making art and listening to music are enticing ways for a child to learn and grow while still having fun. Having grown up with a mother who has worked in education all her life, I found that it was within my blood to pursue a career in teaching. I spent my past semester taking a Child and Development course whilst volunteering as an assistant for my school's child center music class; both of which had proven to be enjoyable experiences that helped me to open my eyes to different ways in communicating and spending time with children effectively while keeping them entertained. Though I have little Read more experience in babysitting, I have a 22 year old sister who has special needs and have volunteered at various special needs facilities in the past, so I am very adept to caring for children with disabilities. I feel that as an inherently caring person, it is something that will come naturally.
