I interviewed Natalie on the phone and met with her on a Saturday for an hour while she interacted with my daughter. She stayed for an hour and we decided to have her start the following Wednesday (after Christmas) at 9AM since I would be working from home so I can walk her thru everything. I get a video text from her and a child (possibly someone she was caring for) on Christmas Day wishing a Merry Christmas. I responded back on Tuesday (day after Christmas) wishing her a Merry Christmas. At 2AM on Wed (the day that she would start), I get a text from Natalie that the holidays were crazy and basically it was not a good fit. If it wasn't a good fit she should have said something up front. Why bother waiting to 2AM on Wed? I could have lined up other candidates. It is a hit or miss with these sites. It is like a needle in a hay stack to find a reliable and professional nanny. I know Natalie works late sometimes until midnight. For whatever reason, I am glad this happened. Would hate to have hired her and then have her call me last minute that she can't work and me running around to find an emergency nanny. Beware to parents.
