Hello! My name is Brigitte and I am 26 years old. I began childcare work at age 14 and was a consistent nanny for 2 girls ages 1 & 3 from 2007-2011. In 2013 I was a live-in nanny for a family with 2 children ages 3 & 5. In 2017 I was a nanny for a very rambunctious 6 year old! More recently, I worked with children ages 6-12 with sensory difficulties in an equine therapy practice. Generally, I prefer to work with one family at a time. Consistency is important to me in building trust and routine with the children in my care. I am very familiar with morning, nap, and bedtime routines and love reading stories or playing music to help wind down from the day. For older kids, I am great at helping with homework and studying. I am very flexible and patient, but adhere firmly to rules set by you. Safety is my first priority always as I know anything can happen in an instant and staying present and aware is key. I do not spend time on my phone when caring for children. I have my own vehicle, a Honda Element, and a clean driving record. A little more about my personal life: I graduated in 2015 with a degree in Geography concentrating in Community and Environmental Planning. Since graduation, I have traveled through Mexico and Guatemala, ridden my bike across British Colombia, spent a year helping run an organic farm in Oregon, and lived for 10 months in the UK learning about equine therapy. My goals/aspirations are to continue studies in either Urban Planning or Landscape Architecture in the near future. I am seeking long-term, consistent part-time (or full-time for the right position) work as I transition back from living in the UK.
