I'm currently a third-semester nursing student at LA County College of Nursing as well as an active Certified Nursing Assistant. I love kids and am hoping to one day be a pediatric nurse in an ICU, or work to support babies and moms in labor and delivery. I have tons of experience working with kids of all ages. A lot comes from being a Girl Scout for 13 years and being a mentor and creating various badge days and events for younger Scouts. I was a camp counselor at Twilight Camp for 4 Summers in a row where I got to lead a unit of 12 girls ages 6-13, some of whom had disabilities and needed special accommodations. I planned, organized and cooked meals, coordinated and led activities. I also had the opportunity to work and train at the preschool Hogg's Hollow in La Canada for their 2017 and 2018 Read more Summer months looking after 20+ preschoolers (ages 3-6). I helped keep everyone safe and entertained on weekly field trips and in daily crafts and educational activities. In the Summer of 2017, I worked for the City of Glendale in the Sparr Heights Day Camp. I looked after and helped manage 100+ kids, ages 5-12 in daily activities as well as during outings and field trips. I helped manage the condition of the Community Center and led games and activities. As far as my ideologies and personality go, I believe that with kids having a mutual respect for each other is the most important place to start. Every kid is different, and I try to make an effort to understand them and build their trust through kindness, patience and empathy. Every kid just wants to feel seen, heard, and safe and I love the way little humans interpret the world so uniquely. I would say I'm a relatively bubbly and optimistic person and would consider myself to be very gentle and empathetic and therefore do pretty well with anxious kids. I can be flexible and have a generally open schedule. Let me know how I can help!
