Growing up as the oldest sibling, I've been taking care of two younger brothers: one who is a year younger and the other who is eleven years younger than me. I always had a heart for helping younger kids. I would help our kindergartners and volunteer to have more than one "kinder buddy" to play with so no kindergartner was lonely. The second oldest sibling has autism, which is no real issue to me because I see him as a normal person and the brother I love. The youngest of them all I've had the pleasure of watching over since he was born. I had to help with his baths, meal times, and dressing him up. The biggest issue is putting on his shoes! He has a speech delay, so he had many speech tutors in the past years, but later on, I took charge and helped him further his Read more communication skills. I took care of my younger cousins of many different ages. It's always an adventure and a fun time with children! I enjoy many different kinds of activities such as drawing, reading to them, playing tag or hide and seek, or just talking to them to hear their interesting stories. My mother got her bachelor's degree in child development and has taught me how to handle children of many ages. I took a course in my second year of high school of child development and building relationships with children that has taught me how to take care of children. I'm very experienced with children and love being in their company. I never been paid for taking care of them, however. I also had experience tutoring a class in my last year of high school in the class of Spanish Speakers 2. I'm going to be attending college in late August and need to start saving up money to be able to afford college. I'll be studying Accounting and want to pursue an early career of being a teacher. I'll be enlisting in the Army Reserves in the year of 2018 in the field of Behavioral Science to help veterans with PTSD and other disorders. Psychology is a big passion of mine and it's always interesting to learn about the human mind and how it works. I've dealt with many children and young adults with disorders and depression and know how hard it can get, but I'm able to support them and give them proper treatment if able to. All in all, I just love to help people and their families and hope to find a home that I can make children still feel at home while I'm there taking care of them. I strive for happiness and joy in any situation, whether it may be stressful or discouraging, I know there will be light.
