I love working with children, I truly never feel better then when I am giving back and providing care to those who need help. I have many years of paid and unpaid experience watching kids in a variety of settings including as a nanny, sister, babysitter & music teacher, to name a few. In the past I volunteered at Girls Rock Philly camp where I taught a vocal class to girls ages 9-13. My mom worked at a pre-school, and I performed music in front of her class as part of my college graduation thesis . I have experience helping homeschool an elementary school girl. My personality is very bubbly and I enjoy being silly and creative with kids! Currently, I part time watch a wonderful five year old little boy in the Pasadena area. I have been relied upon to take care of a variety of children ranging from toddlers Read more to preteens, all of which I am comfortable with, by family, friends, and co-workers. I have experience with caring for children with mild autism and asperger's. I love all animals and grew up with dogs, cats, guinea pigs, fish etc. I've also grown up with plenty of young children around. I have two younger brothers who I babysat throughout my adolescence. I volunteered with a nonprofit children's organization called Allie's Friends for 4 years. I have taken CPR and First Aid training, but would need to renew my certification, which I am happy to do if required. I studied Music Industry at Drexel University with a double minor in Business and Film Production. While in college I played in various bands and toured the country. I believe babysitting can be a fulfilling way to earn money as I continue to play music. As for my caregiving philosophy, I believe it is most important to fulfill the parents' wishes. It is not my place to choose what is "right" and "wrong" for your child to eat, watch, say, etc. That is all your choice and my job is simply to enforce the rules you have made for your home. As for favorite activities to do with children, I've done it all. It really depends on the child. Some kids enjoy arts and crafts, some are more musical, some are athletic and like to play outside, some like to use their imagination and others like video games. I have taken kids to the California science center, and enjoy fun day trips. I am happy to spend time helping children learn while also having fun.
