Having now been in child care for over a decade, I have worked with children of all ages and all backgrounds. What began as a hobby has turned into a calling and I now work full-time as a Preschool Teacher at a Reggio-inspired preschool in Pacific Heights. I began my career with children as a camp coach for Coast Sports organization in West Los Angeles. After a few summers as a coach, I assumed the role of Co-Director of Rookie Camp, managing up to 100 children daily. The camp was theme-based and I was in charge of planning craft tables, outdoor activities, and overseeing staff. The children ranged from 2-6. From Los Angeles, I moved to Colorado Springs where I spent four years at Colorado College earning a Bachelor's in Sociology and Education. My Ed focus was the Early Years and after graduation CC, I took a capstone course at Read more UCLA entitled, "Curriculum Development and Classroom Management." During my time spent in Colorado, I also nannied part-time for two familes. In Colorado, I spent evenings with Leah (5-8 years old) and, once back in LA for summers and other breaks, worked full-time with Roland (3-6 years old). Additionally, I've babysat for up to twenty-five other families continuously throughout the last ten years. After receiving my degree from CC, I moved back to California and have since settled in the good ol' Bay Area. Though I am originally from Southern California, my roots are in the North and, like many other San Franciscans, I really, really love this city. I have had three jobs since moving here in 2011, all in Education. Beyond my professional lifestyle, I am many things. I am a sister, I am a friend, I am a soccer player, I am a music-pursuer, I am a (new!) biker, I am a listener, I am a writer, I am a learner, and I am teacher.
