We reached out to Melissa to help care for our 14-month-old son for two days while our regular nanny was unavailable on short notice. Melissa is one of the most spectacular humans to have ever walked into our lives. She was with our family from the very beginning, from the moment my children were born, and stayed with us for six incredible years, until she moved away. We miss her every single day. Even now, there is rarely a day that goes by when we don’t say how grateful we are for everything Melissa taught us. We text her pictures to show her things all the time and luckily we still video chat with her often! My children love to eat healthy because Melissa did. They lovingly water plants and take pride in caring for living things because she showed them how. The lessons she shared were woven seamlessly into everyday life, and the impact of those moments is immeasurable. We share our Facebook memories and iPhone pictures all the time which bring tears of joy to my eyes!! She had a gift for nurturing not only our children, but our entire family! Melissa was my savior in more ways than I can count!! A steady presence, a trusted partner, and a constant source of reassurance during some of the most important years of our lives. Knowing my children were with someone who loved them as deeply and genuinely as she did was an indescribable comfort. There were many weekends where I either had to work or be everywhere as a mom and on those very special weekends or extra long days, my kids would sleep over her house! They loved every minute! Many times she would text me and tell me she just needs the babies and I would bring them over and go and run some errands! She knows what it is firsthand to need a few minutes to yourself and she always made sure to think of me every time she had a few free herself!! Melissa is the kind of person who leaves a permanent mark on your heart. We are forever better because of her, forever grateful for her, and endlessly thankful that she was such a huge part of our family’s story.
