Hello! My name is Dawn Smith! I just recently moved to the Atlanta area to start a career in insurance with State Farm! I grew up in Baltimore, Maryland where I started babysitting my little sister at a young age. I realized then that caring for children was a passion of mine. Since then I have babysat for numerous families in my old community, worked at a couple different childcare centers, nannied for a few families, and finally settled at Step By Step Learning Center in 2011. I stayed there for about four years and while I was there I obtained my 90 hour Preschool Teacher certification, became trained in First Aid & CPR, furthered my education and knowledge about child care, and worked in all classrooms with boys and girls between the ages of 6 weeks to 5 years old. As much as I absolutely loved working there I Read more knew that it was time for a change for me. After leaving this past May, I spent a short time living at the beach for the summer before ultimately accepting the job at State Farm and moving here! At first I can seem shy but don't let that fool you. I am just as spunky and full of energy as the next person (I also was a previous cheerleader lol). I enjoy playing games, taking walks, going on outings to the playground/zoo/aquarium, reading books, helping with homework and generally just hanging out with kids! Like my title says I am very new to the area which could be an asset to you since I have a lot of down time. Besides the few coworkers I've made as friends, I don't really know that many people. For the most part I go to work, run errands, and hang out at my apartment. I am really looking forward to meeting people that will invite me into their home and treat me as if I am apart of their family. My work schedule at State Farm is Monday-Friday 7am-1pm which leaves my week nights and weekends absolutely free.
