Not reliable. Kenia seemed like the best candidate out of the many that I interviewed in person. We interviewed her twice, came to a financial agreement where she would have a weekly guarantee + extra hours + be paid whether or not she worked. She sat for us a couple times and our daughter loved her. My husband and I work full time in the entertainment industry and when our shows go into production our days are very time intensive. We really need reliable steady help. When it came time to start our regular after school schedule, a 5 hour a day commitment, I texted Kenia the day before to check in but never heard back from her. I ended up texting 3 times, calling her and emailed her private email and thru the sitter city site. At 8pm the night before she was to start with us, we had still not heard back, were very worried about her and very stressed wondering if we would have help with our daughter the next day. We decided to check in with her parents to see if she was OK. Even though she lives with them, they did not know where she was. As soon as we got off the phone with her dad, she immediately texted us an angry text, saying she was stressed out and would be returning the carseat and house key we had set her up with. She came in the middle of the night and dropped those things off, all the while making our first day work a complete stressful scramble to find care for our child. Another note, her father said that she often changes her phone number and that he doesn’t necessarily ever have the current one. He also said , “she disappears” on her days off. I want to say that I pride myself on championing people and going out of my way to support people in ever way I am able to, especially people who are working for me. I would never disparage someone out of spite. I write here to protect busy families from investing their time, money and hearts into someone who will freak out and disregard the most important thing in the world, your child.

After a very nice and positive phone interview and setting up a proposed in person meeting for the same weekend Kenia never followed through with sending her references/ resume as she said she would that day, never returned my emails asking for the references and resume again x2, never called and never even replied to let me know she was not coming to meet with us/ interview in person like we had discussed.
