I’ve worked as a babysitter from the ages of 15-18 until I got my first job as a program Leader at an after school program. There I taught 7 classes such as; Dance, Art’s & Crafts, D.I.Y, Basketball, Customs (building modeled cars), Girl Scouts, and cooking. at the end of program I supervised over 20 students in a classroom & helped them with their homework and class projects. I then received an offer from the principal to work as an instructional aide for grades 6-8. I help low proficiency and SPED students with their work in all of their classes, but I focused on 7th grade the most. When needed I would substitute a class for all grades and supervise lunch and nutrition time. In high school I volunteered at my middle schools after school program and grew more and more in love with helping students with their work and Read more teaching them different things. I knew instantly that I wanted to pursue a career in education. I’ve grown very patient of my students. They inspire me everyday. Being a nanny isn’t easy or easier than working with a class of 20+ students. I understand it takes more, it takes love, nurturing, and understanding. Children are sacred because they are truly our future and we must cherish that. I believe becoming a full time nanny will expand my knowledge of child development and education. It will help me better understand a child’s perspective when I become a teacher. Training & Certifications: I have gone to many child development trainings (classroom management, SPED development, etc.) and am a certified Paraprofessional (I work with SPED children). I am also CPR & First Aid certified.
