Hello! My name is Nancy and I have been a professional babysitter/nanny for about 4 years now. I grew up caring for my wonderful younger sister, Grace, because my parents both worked full time, so I've been in "caretaker mode" for most of my life, which I see as a blessing. I grew up on a small farm in San Rafael, California. We had horses, goats, pigs, bunnies, chickens, and many dogs and cats. Needless to say, I am very comfortable around animals and would be willing to help care for one if need be. Over the past few years, I attended Cal Poly State University, where I volunteered at a company called EENG (Environmental Education for the Next Generation). My responsibilities entailed teaching kids the lesson plans in an accessible and individualized way. This means that I got to know each child in my group and used that relationship Read more to cater to their individual learning style. These were first and second graders, so I have become very comfortable with children in this age range. I love helping children learn, whether this means reading to them or helping them read, helping them learn a language, or just taking them on walks and showing them nature. I have a basic understanding of Spanish and French, so I would be willing and excited to assist in teaching the basics of these languages. My passion is art, be it acting, singing/songwriting, painting...I love it all, and enjoy sharing creativity with children, and I make a point to encourage using our imaginations during free time. I moved to Los Angeles 3 years ago from San Francisco, and would love to find families here that I can work with. I was babysitting for 3 families consistently for about 2 years, and as stated, I have been involved in childcare for about 4 years. My priorities are safety, fun, and compatibility on all fronts. I very much look forward to meeting new families!
